About

Tom Haynes | Senior Exercise Physiologist | PerforMotion Brisbane

Tom is PerforMotion's Senior Exercise Physiologist, offering face-to-face exercise physiology consultations in Brisbane and virtual sessions worldwide via Zoom. Based at PerforMotion's Teneriffe clinic, Tom works with a broad range of clients from everyday gym-goers managing chronic pain through to elite strength sport athletes competing on the world stage.

Formerly a competitive swimmer, Tom's passion shifted to barbell training and strength sports in high school. While competing in strongman competitions, he discovered his talent lay in helping athletes rather than competing himself, and has built a reputation as one of Brisbane's most sought-after exercise physiologists for complex musculoskeletal rehabilitation.

Tom excels in resolving complex and long-standing musculoskeletal conditions with a methodical, evidence-based approach combined with innovative clinical thinking. He is particularly skilled in chronic pain management, movement efficiency, and returning athletes to full performance after injury.

Tom has worked with elite strength sport athletes at the highest levels, including Australian Olympic Weightlifting team members and IPF Powerlifting World Champions. He specialises in equipping athletes with the tools to overcome challenges and perform at their best, even under time pressure. Tom also provides personalised biomechanics mentoring and advises coaches on injury prevention strategies for strength sports.

In addition to his clinical work, Tom supports NDIS participants, DVA clients, and WorkCover patients at PerforMotion's Brisbane exercise physiology clinic, bringing the same evidence-based, results-focused approach to every client regardless of their starting point.
